Oh, the silliness!

So, I really have to laugh at this...but, not because it is funny! Yesterday one of Ayden's teachers pulled me over to the sidelines to tell me Ayden had a little listening problem that day. She said he was being a clown and just didn't want to listen. Her comment was, "this is a new side of Ayden that I have never seen". OK, many of you who read this know that my little one in Stubborn and Silly (both, with a capital S)! Yikes, I think this is a start to a long road of school days.

Please be prepared for his latest discovery and comment...it just may catch you by surprise. Starting Monday night he has been telling everyone that his daddy is a different color than he is. This was brought on by Ayden when Chris was playing with him Monday night. Somehow their arms landed side by side and this was what Ayden discovered. Ayden has decided it is strange that he and I are the same, but Daddy is different. This is when I had to break into the God makes people in all different colors speech.

Yesterday afternoon we made a stop at "Uncle" Bob's house to pay our respects due to his mother passing away earlier in the week. There were many people there and Ayden was content supervising everyone getting ready for the visitation. We sat and talked with the family for awhile...long enough that Ayden had questions when we left.

Ayden -- Mommy, why is Uncle Bob sad?
Me -- Baby, Uncle Bob is sad because he misses his Mommy.
Ayden -- Where did his Mommy go?
Me -- His Mommy went to heaven to see Jesus...
Ayden -- Ohhhh!
INSERT LONG PAUSE HERE....LOTS OF CONTEMPLATION!
Ayden -- So, Mommy? -- Jesus puts babies in your belly and then later he takes them back.
Me -- Well, kinda...but Jesus took Uncle Bob's Mommy so she could feel better and live with him.
Ayden -- Do I have to go to Jesus' house in heaven?
Me -- Yes, one day you will...but that will be a long ways away!
Ayden -- OK....does he have a dog like Uncle Bob?

Hmmm....it is amazing how a child's mind works!
