Again.
For approximately the one-thousand-seven-hundred-and-fiftieth time. Okay so maybe that is stretching it, but it sure feels like that many times. We were THIS CLOSE to making it through the cold and flu season this year without Croup.
Except, you know, when you have a child that gets Croup every single time a cold goes around - It is bound to get you...eventually.
And it has.
Only a parent who has been through it knows how frightening-sounding those late-night, barky coughing spells can be. Not to mention any night accompanied with stridor. An ER trip in the middle of the night is never fun for anyone. Croup usually equals an anxious parent, a miserable child, and not much sleep for anyone.
And my spaz-tastic kid keeps asking , can I have the purple medicine to make me better....more commonly known as Triaminic. Sure, it can't hurt him right? Triaminic on top of our dear friend Puff the magic dragon (neb treatment)....let's just say oh boy, was I ever wrong. Here comes the circus clown, thankyouverymuch!
The good news is, the medicine is helping. Which means more bouncing off the walls with less cough (even after only one neb treatment there was no croupy cough last night) which is good, right? Yes, actually, bouncing off the walls without hacking up his left lung is a welcomed site.

The calm after the storm, is comforting. BUT, something will take it's place...not too harmful we hope!!
