You could hardly contain Ayden's excitement as we pulled over the high rise on Friday afternoon. He was ready to be there right that second. What makes anyone think they need anything out of the car.....who wants to eat dinner.....WE ARE AT THE BEACH! Neither of the kids (Ayden or Makayla) had any fear of the water. Of course, the Mommies were much more afraid for them than they were themselves. Water to the waist.....no problem! Ayden was on a crab search....and found quite a few. We even have a shark's tooth that is 4-5 inches tall, shells galore, and lots of sand (especially stuck to us).
Ayden really enjoyed swimming in the big pool. Armed with his swimmies....he was ready. Now he thinks he needs a big pool at home (or maybe that was me....hmmm...both I think). Ayden and Makayla both enjoyed jumping off the pool steps and swimming away. Then it was on to naptime....at least for Makayla....Ayden didn't want to give up. So, we had to rest and watch 101 Dalmations. Then, partytime........Happy 2nd Birthday Makayla! Julia, Scott, Grandma, Grandpa, Chris, Leah, Ayden, and Mimi all helped Makayla celebrate with cake, ice cream, and presents galore! Ayden really enjoyed helping Makayla open her presents (maybe a little too much). Kids will be kids, I suppose!
